Silicone Rubber MODRIN MF 5 kg + Catalyst C-88 150 g
MODRIN MF is a two-component material for making elastic molds for casting objects from gypsum, epoxy, polyurethane, methacrylate, and
polyester resins, concrete, wax, low melting point metal alloys, and similar materials.
It cures with the addition of 3-5% of catalysts C-88 STANDARD or C-TIXO QUICK. The curing time when using the first is 8-12 hours and approx. 2-4 hours when using
C-tixo quick. Final hardness is achieved in both cases after one day.
The TIXO-QUICK catalyst causes rapid thickening, so it is mainly used for vertical applications or for pouring where there are no fine details.
A larger amount of catalyst can significantly shorten the curing time, but it reduces flexibility and increases the hardness of the silicone rubber.
Advantages of silicone rubber include:
- minimal shrinkage during curing,
- ability to reproduce even the finest details,
- high elasticity and tear resistance
- thermal and chemical stability, maximum
temp. load is 200°C.
- easy to use
Liquid silicone rubber MODRIN can be additionally thickened into a paste-like mass, which does not run on vertical surfaces, using TIXO THICKENER.
Tixo thickener is mixed into the mixture after adding the catalyst and causes thickening in 20-30 seconds. The recommended amount is about 0.5 -1 % relative to the total mixture. The addition of Tixo thickener does not significantly affect the curing speed of the silicone rubber. Making a mold on vertical surfaces is
also possible with MODRIN MF in combination with the catalyst C-TIXO QUICK. It is applied in several layers with intermediate drying of 1-2 hours.
